Auburn Economic Development Zone Board

Chair calls meeting to order.
Steve Lynch – thanx the Board for the special meeting. Reads letter from Vijay Mital concerning Saratoga Cheese. The company will be hiring locally and using local materials while there goods will be distributed locally and outside the region.
Mike Trapani – asks if they are currently in production.
Steve Lynch – this is a new start up. They are in the process of seeking equity partners. New York State has already offered assistance.
Arlene Ryan – asks how jobs are appointed.
Steve Lynch – they are trying to secure CDBG funds which will require them to offer low/moderate income jobs. It is up to them to hire. Not all jobs will be for low/moderate income as there will be managerial, etc. positions. The Rabbi positions are not included in the 73 proposed hirings.
Mark Palesh – the City is moving forward with this concerning water and sewer services to the site.
Tom Ganey – states the project is good for the County. Asks for any other questions.
Arlene Ryan – asks is the City is in position to offer water and sewer services.
Mark Palesh – we are in the process of working it through. It looks like it will be happening.
Arlene Ryan – asks about expansion.
Steve Lynch – this is the only business of its type in the area so there will probably be expansions and off-shoots.
Chair asks for a motion to approve the application. So moved by Mike Trapani, seconded by Anne Kubarek. All members vote approval. Motion carried.
Chair asks for a motion for adjournment. So moved by Mike Trapani, seconded by Arlene Ryan. All members vote approval. Meeting adjourned.
